The difference in the hp ratings is the intake. The 5.7 in the cars gets an LS1 f-body/vette looking intake w/ the tb on the front, the longer runners build a little more tq. The trucks have a top mount tb and seem to be a good design.
The biggest problem is going to be the 5spd auto. Mine seems really weak and gets confused easy if you drive hard. The new dodge fly by wire sucks, plain and simple. I've lost many a race from a roll because of the .5 to 1 second delay it has.
Avoid the AWD version if it becomes available, that heavy of a car w/ that much drivetrain loss(remember its not avail in 6spd manual) will be a pig to say the least.

I believe the Magnum, like the 300c, comes with a Mercedes 5 speed, not the same horrible slush box on the rams.
Personally I'd get the awd version, 6 months of snow sucks... that and if you could supercharge it to 500hp, awd would make for some sweet launches.

Is Dodge gonna try to put a hemi in everything?? ..... what next the 360HP Hemispherical Combustion Caravan! Or will it be the 550hp 10 Passenger Sprinter V-10 SRT. Looks like the engineers at Dodge have their hands full.

thats the sweetest looking wagon i have ever seen.
we all know the hemi is way over rated but if doge does put it in every car they make there will end up being a nice aftermarket for it.

If I was in the market for a wagon, that would be it. Before this, I would have gone after the Audi, which is really sharp. The BMW would be third.
Nothing wrong with putting good technology to work across the whole product line. Nissan/Infiniti is doing quite well with their 3.5L in everything from their Maximas to their trucks to their luxury sport coupes.
