hey all. just picked up a 2001 tahoe lt 4x4 with the 5.3. i love it. 125k miles. rides great, runs great and everything seems to work properly. this is my first 4x4. first full size truck/suv actually. i have always had camaros. good news is there is no hitch so i know they wasnt any heavy towing. it was owned by grandparents since new so it wasnt abused.

anyway, what are some things i should look at/consider replacing?

my main concerns are suspension and front end since its a 4x4. what should i look at? ball joints, rod ends etc are things i will be looking at this weekend. figure if they are still tight there is no sense replacing them yet?

anything else to look out for? any tips or anything? thanks.

 

front bearings the abs sensors fail and the abs kicks on at low speeds the sensor is part of the wheel bearing. and when you replace the bearings put lots of grease on the sensor in side the bearing.
