Default 2001 2WD Tahoe with bolt-ons wanting to run E85...

I have a 2001 2wd Tahoe that I'm wanting to convert to run E85 EXCLUSIVELY. I understand that I need a pump that can support more volume & bigger injectors as well as a tune. My question is: how much bigger do I need? It has a stock 5.3 with bolt-ons. I do want to cam it *eventually* with a TSP 220R.

Can someone guide me to the proper aftermarket pump? I'm sure that I don't need an Aeromotive A1000, LOL. What about the injectors? Could I pull some of off a different Make/Model that would work?

Thanks!

What's your 8th VIN character? T or Z? If you have Z you can run E85 already.

If you have T, well, you need a lot. You need 36lb/hr injectors with Ethanol-rated seals (minimum), a 180lph pump or better (a Walbro 255 works), return-style fuel rail, an E85 sensor with corresponding tune (or a fixed tune, but E85 content varies wildly). Easily $900 worth of stuff once said and done.

I have the LM7. Vin code of T. Can't I just pull the injectors from a Flex Fuel GMT800?

Why do you want to go with e85? Cheaper prices? You're not gaining power, unless you go boost.

There are 2 different e85's. There is the summer e85 that is actually real close to 85% ethanol. There is also a winter version that is around 70% ethanol that is out of the same pump. If you do your own tuning that is fine, you can just swap back and forth. Like said above you arent going to gain much at all if any, but more importantly your mileage will go down. I converter my truck to e85, and am quite happy, but I run boost. You will need a fuel composition sensor to make it work without switching tunes. If you are serious about this, I can go into further detail.
