2000 rcsb 4.3 Manual transmission..truck takes to long to pick up speed
#21
Thats typically only for first few minutes though, usually once the pump primes and injectors open it pushes all the air out, then again ive normally got a fuel pressure guage on the rail when im dealing with fuel issues so may be bleeding when i pull my fp guage off.... Then again hes dealing with a 4.3 with that BS spider injector....
On a normal injector and rail it will self bleed faster.

Man this is some bullsht,..I just got done walking about 3miles home tonight,,I was at a red light in full blown traffic and all of a sudden my clutch went to the floor(well not all of a sudden because I felt it acting up this morning)..i had a little pressure maybe like 10% but it wasn't enough to get it in gear so I was a sitting duck for a few minutes,so I cut the engine off,put the car in second gear, foot on the clutch, started the car and drove all the way to some random mechanic shop and dropped it off there,I couldn't even shift out of second gear..
I had a similar problem with my z06 vette a while back and it turned out to be a messed up master cylinder so I'm guessing this might be the cause...y'all know how much I should expect to pay for this shop to replace a clutch master cylinder?
The shop was closed but they had a mailbox drop where you can put your key in if you catch them after hours..
I really had plans on saving some money and dropping a 5.3 or 6.0 in it but now all I'm trying to do is get this bitch to run right for the time being..
Also I'm going to get them to check out the previous issues we were working on figuring out..ill be back to update

If theyre smart theyre replace the master and the slave... But its usually about an hour or so labor plus parts... Id say off top of my head, if youre getting just master replaced, probably about $250 depending labor rate etc!!!
Why arent you doin it yourself??

) and all my friends are putting in hours at work as well and don't have time to lend a hand..I should of just parked it and got to it when I had the time but I really want to drive the truck or else I'll be driving my little boring Kia around..also I never changed a master/slave cylinder before and I can't find a good DIY for my model truck..

Its fairly straight forward, hardest part is bleeding it out afterwards.....theres either rollpins that hold the line in or it screws in, been while since ive seen a manual gmt800...

Well Seems like I'll be doing the work myself,,this shop is a joke..he was being all dramatic and being a fast talker..this what he said the truck needs
New clutch
Flywheel
Slave and master cylinder
Rotor cap
Spark plugs
Maf sensor
And he said he has no problem getting started on it today but....get ready for this estimate.........a whopping $3400 LOLOLOLOL
I told him I'll be there to pick it up shortly,of course he's asking for a $75 diagnostic fee..
Now I've been driving manual transmissions for 10 years and I know when a clutch is bad or about to go out and my trucks clutch is NOT GOING OUT

Where are you??? Thats ridiculous.... I have had times where i will recommend a clutch based on mileage when the hydraulics failed but thats usually after theyve driven on it and said its just been getting worse.... If the slave is in the bellhousing as part of the throw out bearing assembly which iirc it is, youre better off doin clutch while youre there, typically if the master goes the slave isnt that far behind.. As for tune up, etc thats crap id recommend on a basis of maintenance notas part of the solution to the problem...
