Default 2000 gmc sierra 4.3 to 5.3 ecm question

Hey guys when doing this swap is it a must to have the ecm vin number flashed to the donor ecm?I have crank windows and manuel locks and the donor truck was all electric?I read the nbs v6 to v8 write up on here and it said for the truck to start on the first try have your tuner set the vin number but if I can just avoid that 300 dollar tune till I get some upgrades worth getting a tune I'd rather do that.I read somewhere about a crank relearn process is that all that is needed??

Try waiting at least 24 hrs for a response.

The power windows and door locks have nothing to do with the ECU. Those go through the BCM.

As far as if it will start, it's usually a 50/50 shot. Sometimes a mismatch between the vin number in the ECU and the BCM will not allow it to start. Some have reported it starting right up.

Usually starts the first, maybe second, time after that the security will kick in and not allow it.... Between vats and vin mismatch codes and everything else tgat is shared between the two, spend the money for the tune, or at least to have vin flashed.... Some dealers have ability to flash pcm without vehicle if they have the adaptor and it isnt messed up.... Problem withdealer is if they flash the vin it will flash it with os for the 4.3... At least in theory

My bad didn't mean to sound inpatient ,just meant I was gonna report back if it worked. It starts and runs for about 150 miles so far but I'm getting a tune thursday at nelson because I can't run my codes and the low coolant light stays on as well as the abs light
