the police speedo is going to be the way to go. the problem is that to get one you can't buy them from gm. i'd recomend calling specmo to see if they'll sell to the public. i've never tried to buy publicly from them.

Yep, that's why I don't have one myself.

I got an Avalanche 2500 cluster with tranny temp instead. Something tells me I shouldn't be going over 120 in a 3-ton brick anyway.

Ok.. i have good/bad news i just called them this morning and they told me that they are working on it right now and they'll have it ready by november but it won't be available until january 2006, the guy also told me that they don't offer complete clusters yet but they will offer the complete cluster later. the overlay its gonna be around 160bucks but they havent decide about the top speed yet it might be a 150 or 160 MPH but they are going to make one for sure.

Well that doesn't sound like a good deal at all, especially when you can get a whole, brand-new cluster for $225.

You cant jsut drop an new overlay on there and say it registers 160mph. I could take a sharpie to my escalade cluster and mark 160 where 120 used to be but that doesnt mean it really does go up to 160. They need some kind of recalibration device.
