Exclamation 1500HD vs 1500 Suspension for putting back to stock

I've researched and googled but keep coming up empty.

I have a 2wd LS 01 1500HD.

I want to lift it using lift spindles but do I use the regular 1500 spindles or try to find 2500hd spindles? I also need to replace the shackles because they put on those adjustable lowering shackles. So which truck do I get stock shackles from?

Like I said I've searched and searched but can't get an accurate answer. No one focuses on the front suspension but only the rear axle itself. So if anyone can guide me in the right direction it would be awesome.

A 1500HD is a 2500 when it really comes down to it. It rides on a 2500 frame with that suspension and 8 lug wheels.

You need the heavy duty spindles and not the regular spindles.

So I need to get lift spindles from a 2500hd and up then?

If you have 8 lug wheels and 4 bolt wheel bearings, then yes.

All the regular half ton trucks have 6 lug wheels and 3 bolt wheel bearing.

Parts for a 2500HD or 3500HD for that matter suspension, hub and brake wise in the front are all identical to your 1500HD. So buy appropriate parts which aren't for any non HD 1500 series truck.

so out of curiosity, what is the difference between the 2500hd and 1500HD? I've never paid much attention. is it just crew cab vs extended cab?

Well upon looking it seems as though they don't make any lift spindles for the 1500HD and up.

A 1500HD uses a 9.5 semi float rear end like the regular 2500

A 2500HD will have a 10.5 with a 6.0 gasser and an 11.5 in the rest.

I'm sure there is other minor differences like spring rates.

So I can just buy a lift for a 01 2500hd and it'll bolt right up?
