1500HD tires for 17" rims?
#1
Hey guys, I'm getting a set of 17x8 rims for the truck. What are the best size tires for these for street driving? Keep in mind that I don't tow anything, just haul ***, so load rating is not a big concern. 265? 275? 60's? 70's? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

I personally like a 275/60/17. I had some on my old wheels. I see you have a 1500 HD though. Are you gonna drop the back 2"? What is the stock size? 255/70/16? If so, the 275/60/17 will be the same hieght at about 1" wider. But you can go with a 285/60/17 and that will drop the hieght about .5" if that much.

The stock ones are a whimpy 245/75/16 so a 275/60/17 will be very close to stock diameter. I am not planning on dropping it anytime soon but I am keeping my eyes open for someone to put out a quality kit. I just don't want any rubbing or clearance issues with the new wheels and tires.
I also need to consider changing the G80 out since it seems to be very inconsistant as to when it locks up. Thanks for the reply.
