Well that really depends on the person....I can knock out a cam swap in about 2-3 hours, springs will take about an hour, torque converter probably 3 hours or so...It will go a lot faster (especially the torque converter) if you have access to a lift so you can stand under there instead of lying on the ground.

Your truck has 4.10's..... all the 2500HD 6 liters in that era could have. Heavy rims and tires aren't helping. 4.56's wouldn't hurt at your point either. But the cam and convertor are great ideas. Similar to what I am doing to the 2004 in my sig except I am going a few steps further adding 243 heads, a NNBS intake manifold and headers. But....... also swapping in my LQ9 and pulling the trucks LQ4.

you could knock it out in a weekend with some help.
IMO converter is easier than a cam swap knowledge wise, but both are fairly easy.
Cam has a few little tricks that need to be done. so REad up!!
I bought my cam springs for $300 and converter for $375 both used on here in the for sale section. Just keep an eye out for deals!
