Default 06 silverado fuel pressure regulator problem

ok so heres my problem.i just replaced my fuel pump this past weekend with the walbro 255 pump. we got the bed off and took the pump out,we couldnt seem to figure out how to get the dang pump out.the clips on the side were not allowing us to slide the sleeve off like it shouldve came apart.so we were messing with it and firgured out that we have to take out the center fuel pressure regulator .we took it out but i messed with the small screw on the top of it and i dont think we put it back exactly how it went. after we were done with the whole install i took it for a drive to test if it works properly.so when i stomp on it it falls flat on its face and sputters.so do i have a bad fuel pump, need to adjust that small screw or need a retune.whats yalls thought, thanks
