Has anybody gone through the trouble of doin a 03 and up mirror swap into a 99-02 model truck?
I got the 00 rcsb and i hate the little mirror in it. I miss the one my 04ecsb has in it.
So i wanna do a mirror swap.
What all do i need to do this other than the mirror of course?
What harness parts do i need...will they plug and play or will i have to splice into wires?
Also what about the temp sensor? What do i need to do to make that part work as well?
I wanna do the swap but make it work correctly as well.
Just a base model mirror i belive ..... with direction/temp on it.

i dont quite follow you because my dads mirror(04 2500HD LT w/ onstar) has about the same viewing areaif not exactly the same as mine (01 LS w/ manual mirror, no compass/temp)

you are talking about the interior windshield mounted rear view mirror arent you

 

Yep, my 04 is noticable larger than the 00 one. Plus i want the temp/compass feature lol.

 

plan on getting lost anytime soon lol

if i remember correctly, i thought i saw someone post that its already wired in and its just plug and play going from manual mirror to compass/temp. kinda like we already have a trans temp sensor but no gauge stock on 1500s.

btw, my stepmom has the compass/temp in our 01 tahoe

 

Lol, dude i drive long distances and every now and then it really does help to look up and go...Ok i'm good haha.
MapQuest sucks lol.
But i don't know i've had the 04 for 3 years and been driving the 00 for the most part for about a month and i miss my 04 mirror lol.
Told Rnady i'd make a post to see how bad/not so bad the swap would be and i'm gonna get his mirror and harness so i can get my newer mirror fix haha.
