In my quest to get an 03+ console into my 02 I have run across yet another snag.

The dash trim is different for the 03+ and even if you replace the glove box to mate up with the 03 console, it still will not mate up correctly with the dash bezel. They are slightly different to accept the 2 din radio. The radio can be easily solved.

My question is, will an 03 ac control work in an 02? I know I can not upgrade to the dual control feature, but what about the standard non dual AC control? I do not have a defroster on my window. I only need the AC button, fresh air, and rec air.

Any thoughts?

I dont think it will because they use different connectors. Maybe you could find out which wires run where on the analog ones and mate an 03 to 02 connector but sounds tricky.

If I am not mistaking the connectors are diffrent.... you may be better off staying with what you got.... If you really want them I will get you the schematics and pinouts for both....

 

Well, I did more research and it does not appear that there is a non dual control AC control for 03+ Therefore I am going to have to go with a console from the 99-02. Too bad because the 03+ is way better. It does not look like the 03 will fit with the 99-02 dash bezel even if the kick panel and glove box are changed because it comes down lower. Unless anyone can confirm this fitment, this project is dead.
