Default 02 rcsb Z71. What's it worth?

I have the opportunity to buy a chevy 02 rcsb Z71. It is a farm truck. No body damage. Has pulled a few peanut wagons. 10,000lbs +. He claims the motor is blown. Trans and axles are good. around 80000 miles. What would be a good offer.

if the motor is toast i'd offer him like $2K. buy it, then drop in a 6.0L.

Yeah, offer 2,000, and if he wants more offer a bit more. He shouldn't expect too much for a truck with 80,000 miles and a blown motor. Then buy a 6.0 and rebuild/mod it while it's not in the truck. For a few grand you could have a brand new motor in a truck thats in good shape from what you say. If he's towed 10,000+lbs a few times I'd take a look into the tranny.

Well I think were gonna do a little horse trading. I've got a toyota 4x4 reg cab that he wants. We might just trade. Guy is a good friend of mind so I can't stick it to him really bad. I like the idea of the 6.0 swap. Is there a sticky anywhere that I can read up on. I'm guessing the 5.3 wiring harness and ECU work with the 6.0?
