Default 02 Power folding mirrors.

An 02 Escalade was new in the pick n pull, and I grabbed the power folding mirrors. The RPO code is DL7. I'm a little confused, because they do have the turn signals on the bottom of the mirror.

I tried searching, but there is definitely conflicting information. The vehicle had a switch mounted on the dash, (where the 2wd/4wd) switch usually is.

The one on the vehicle was cracked, so I didn't want to pay for it, but I stashed it, and see the only one on ebay right now is $83. that I'm not going to pay.

When I pulled the connectors off the harness, I followed it into the DS door I found this:

That part number comes back as power mirror module. From searching, there is apparently one in the PS side, (and even though I pulled the panel off), I somehow didn't see it.

These mirrors don't exactly look great, but I still have my original mirrors in a storage bin (that I replaced with heated color matched a while back). I think I can take them apart and rebuild these new ones.

I wasn't really looking for these, and I'm in Texas, so heated mirrors (which I think are factory activated with the heated seats), is not something I really need. I might just sell what I pulled and let someone else do it, but I had a better idea.

I recently won two of these brand new Grant 03-07 wheels. ($31 shipped for the cheaper one)

I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO KNOW, if it would be possible to just wire the power fold directly to one of the switches.

It may be possible but the it has to be a 4 pin out switch. You would have to do a lot of electrical scheming to get it to work right.

I don't have the schematics, but the dash switch had 5 wires. The mirrors themselves have a male and a female 8 pin connectors. (My current mirrors have the same 8 pin male). On the 8 pin female there are 6 wires: Lt blue, Dk blue, Yellow, Purple, Red, Green. The turn signals are orange with black, and black, and those are on the other connector, (just looked ,and my current mirrors have the turn signals but I never hooked them up, probably didn't want to).

So 6 wires, and none are ground. I would want to figure out what those are first. I've never seen the mirrors in action, or it might help. I can only come up with fold in, and fold out.

The entire door harness disconnected at the kick panel. The switch wires went into a bundle behind the dash, and I wasn't about to pull em in a black escalade when its 100 out.

Find on GMFullSize the schematics. I would but I am lazy today, remind me in the middle of the week and I will find them for you.

It is some sort of momentary switch I believe. God I need to go back to school for electrical engineering or something cause I am peanut brain.
