B Hall hasn't been back since he told us the cats were clogged, but since he went from a stock exhaust to a stock exhaust with "repaired" cats, I want to hear his opinion on how it sounds. terravast4, you are welcome for me giving you the opportunity to show off your exhaust,

MikeGyver,
Sorry for the delay in reply, had a bout of covid the day after I addressed this problem, just now feeling better...
It is a little louder with some drone at certain rpm', but not bad at all. I do need to say that it has and had a dynomax super turbo 20" muffler on it before with it dumped just behind the rear axle. I can also smell the unburnt exhaust more than before when pulling it into the garage. It was so quiet before (with the cats clogged) there was basically no exhaust note to it at all, mostly just intake noise. Now, the exhaust note follows my foot, if ya know what I mean? It is by no means annoying, not raspy but does have a hint of crackle after high rpm throttle blips. It just sounds like it is breathing so much better and it is.
terravas4,
Thanks for the cat suggestion/affirmation, it is like a new truck. Now its time to start playing; I have a NBS/TBSS intake all ready to go in this thing and some long tubes. Just wanted to get it all squared away and didn't want to start staking issues on top of new self-created issues.
Thanks,
Brian

Thanks. That's probably as close to a stock muffler that I will get a before and after report about tuning the cats. It seems that fixing the cats is usually the last step in modifying the exhaust. Also, I don't know if this is typical, but when I had to tune the cats on my emissions exempt 1995 car, the muffler blew out in a short time.
