Yes you are correct in that. But they are not the same as the 05 up rods.. They are a beefier rod then a lq4 rod up to 05. Then they all are the same as far as strength.. Just looked like you were saying they were a 06 rod, thats all

How much you have to spend?/ Also there is no real difference between the 2.. The compression is hardly going to be noticeable. If you that worried about it have your heads milled 20-30k

I want to get the lq9 with flat pistons so I can swap my current heads/cam setup over from my ls1 with no issues. The size of my cam and the heads do not require flycutting, I want to have good ptv clearance. I'm just looking for a good condition shortblock to put good bearings in and new rings and bolts and be good to go. Just trying to get some extra power while the motor is out. now is the time for the swap if I do anything. and ive seen shortblocks go for 350 and up depending on mileage. just looking for a good deal within reason.
