Search the junk yards, I got one for $475, but had been in a small fire..
so water in one cyl pitted it some.. just one cyl has a pit in it.. the others are perfect, no wear.. might have it sleeved ($300 sleeved, all cyl honed, cleaned, cam bearing etc)
You have to watch out for some of those junk yards, they can be fair or can be con artists.... Seen some have 2 or 3 engines... 70-110k mile Escalade engines go for $2000-2800, another yard will have same ones same miles for $1100-1500
Seen yards have lq4 140k miles for $1900.. there is no standard... expect to pay $1200-$1500 for a fair deal on a lq9
You may have to drive... 200-300 miles shipping will kill your wallet, a days drive will save ya. I drove 215 miles to get mine.

Hey guys, I got an LQ4 sitting in the shop. It has around 80K on it. Just pulled it out of an 03 1500HD. It ran when I pulled it out. We installed an LQ9 in for the guy. What do you think its worth. Its a complete engine intake to oil pan.
Also have a complete engine harness off an 05 1500.
