Wheel adapters for sale-Chevy 6 lug to 5 lug
I've got a set of two-piece wheel adapters for sale that convert a Chevy 6 lug to the Corvette/Camaro 5 lug pattern. This is a set of 4. Each adapter weighs just over 6 lbs and are 2 inches thick. The first half bolts to your hub and then the second half bolts on and has the studs for the new 5 lug pattern. The two halves are keyed and indexed to ensure that they fit together correctly.
I paid $400 plus shipping via ebay and only used them for one summer then sold the truck. I'd like to get $275 shipped. Pics are available, just ask.
If you're interested, this combo brought my 1990 C2500 truck wheel and tire weights down a bit and gave the truck a nice different style. They allowed the high-offset factory wheels to fit perfectly on the truck. Even with the 275 rears the tires could fully extend up inside the fenderwells of my lowered truck with no fear of a cut or rub.
Here are the weights:
1990 stock steel wheel and tire weight: 60lbs
1999 C5 front with 245/45R17 = 45 lbs + adapter = 51 lbs
1999 C5 rear with 275/35R18 = 48 lbs + adapter = 54 lbs
While it's true that if you had aluminum wheels already you don't save much if any weight, but you do get to take advantage of the many stock wheels and tires that have been taken off of other vehicles. I only paid $300 for my 99 vette wheels and I could have easily picked up a second pair of 18's cheaply, too.
