hmmm
they say you need this to do a cam swap in a DOD motor...does it need thing to make it work with the motor other than the outter gasket?

Yup you need this to do a cam swap in a DOD motor. All you need is the main outer gasket and the small o-ring gaskets for the oil holes. I bought this for my DOD 5.3L LH6 cam swap but i replaced it with one that doesnt have the PCV provision and reused my gasket and o-rings.
