Great...thx. I'd like to go catless as well but good ole' NC emission laws keep getting in the way. High flow cats are better than the stockers, I hope. I already get a pretty aggressive growl with the motor I'm running and the Banks Monster exhaust.

Wow, that's a great deal. Why can't I find deals like this when I have the spare cash? I talked to Kooks at the Charlotte Auto Fair here in NC last week and they told me if I bought the headers and connection pipes at the show they'd package them for $900 for headers and $500 for the pipes. I was like, "I can get them online cheaper than that." I understand the NC emissions deal too. If you get a good tune with O2 simulators out back, you should pass the emissions test unless they look for the actual cat. I know several who went this route on LQ9, LS1 and such. I personally want to keep the cats to keep the sound reasonable in my neighborhood. I leave work at midnight, so. Lol.

Yeah...since I live in a county that does both OBDII and a visual inspection, I'm screwed as far as eliminating the cats or for that mater going turbo for my FI (which is why I'll be doing the ProCharger). Have to keep her legal since she's my daily driver but heck, there's nothing stock on the ole' girl but the paint and seats at this point

That's why I got real friendly with a local shop, lol. As long as it passes the state test, they're good to go. The simulators should take care of the test if you can find the right shop. But there is nothing wrong with keeping it legal. I've read different reports on builds that show minimal losses on the dyno with high flow cats. I've also seen many complaints on the drone of cat-less systems.
