Thanks man. The part of the tank that the hose connects to has a huge crack around the base.
A buddy of mine has a shop, so to support, I let him do some work sometimes. I'll let him change my fuel pump. When I get the truck back you said everything went fine. 88 single I went to put gas in the tank because i left it low to make the job easier. As I get the truck back and go to the gas station to fill up Gas was pouring out as quick as I put it in. I called him and he comes to the gas station crawls on the ground and reaches up under there and says he feels where it's leaking from. He stated that the filler hose was disconnected from the gas tank. He also stated that he doesn't know why, because he unhook the filler hose from the top. He said it was an easy fix, so I let him get the truck the next day.
All day passes and I don't get a phone call, as I got off work at 6 p.m. I called him. He said that the filler Nick itself was cracked and that they don't sell feeling that you have to buy the whole tank and he couldn't find a tank. However, he stated that he put epoxy on it so the truck will be okay until he finds a tank. On the way home, I located the filler neck at Advance Auto Parts. I ordered it, and went to his shop and show him the receipt. You been said that he found one as soon as he hung up for me and that I can look on his computer and see where he pulled it up. I asked him if the truck was driveable with his epoxy fix. He said yes that I told him that I'm going to drive my Cadillac off of his property walk back and get my truck and driving home. He offered to drive it home for me, but I told him I did not want him to touch my truck anymore. Of course he went to explaining, I just told him I wasn't his girlfriend or wife and I don't want to hear excuses. I understand that he lied. I'm done.

I left his shop and walked back. As I walk in the door he starts explaining again and I tell him to give me my key. He finally did, and as I walk out he tells me that the filler neck still isn't going to fix the problem. I told him to go to hell, and that he couldn't fix in the first place so I'll handle it myself.

I let my truck sit all day Sunday, and that Monday morning to drive to the gas station to put gas in it. I don't even get to 50 cents worth, and it's down there skeeting like a pornstar! I drove home upset try to locate tank, and wait on the liquor store to open. The rest is in this thread.

 

Cliff Notes:

-Need fuel pump changed
-Let friend with shop do it
-Friend did it, but filler neck is broken, friend says he will fix it next day

I almost pissed myself with the “skeeting like a **** star” that made my day, and Atomics bit was quite funny as well.

If you were close to me I would have given you my tank..... that thing is just clogging up shop space
