Post GM 261 Transfer Case - Whats it worth?

I have a GM 261 transfer case that I am looking to sell. Ratio is 272 and assy no. is 1575 3787. All this is off of the new process gear tag. I dont know anything about these, but do know it came out of a 01/02 truck that was rolled. It has roughly 60K miles on it and appears very clean. Anyone know what its worth is?

Thanks,

JP

I believe the NP series were push button and used from 99-06. As for their worth, really up to the market demand and condition of the transfer case. I know they arnt very stout and people swap them out for stronger units when they start slipping/blow up so your market is narrowed to people just wanting a stock replacement. (I.e. someone left it in 4hi on the road)

If it's auto trac they tend to burn up clutches apparently. I have one with bad clutches. Luckily i have a spare.

I've only seen them burn up clutches if ran with mis-matched tires or gear ratios. I use mine every day in the winter(under boost), and alot in the summer when I need the traction for a kill.

Just an FYI but the 261 isnt pushbutton. The 246 is the pushbutton transfer so im pretty sure he has the manual shift transfer.

Thanks for the replies. I have learned it is a manual shift. I have also listed it locally (Houston area) on craigslist.

Yep, np261 is the one in the manual 4wd NBS trucks. From what I can tell they are pretty stout, I havent heard that many issues about them except for the pump rubbing on the case causing a leak eventually. The HD versions is the np263, and the autotrac one is the np246

I gutted my auto crap and went with a manual only keeping the push buttons for fr diff lock those clutch set ups are a joke. Left me stuck in the local mud holes a few times before I found out about the clutches in them. clutch in a tcase stupid imo.
