Default FS: Trick Performance turbo crossover - Brand New

I have a brand new Trick Performance crossover from their Stage 2/3/4/5 kits. Works with Trick manifold and drivers side stock truck manifold. This crossover works with braided trans cooler lines, you can't use the stock hard lines as this crossover is designed for maximum frame to downpipe clearance (especially useful for 3.5", 4", or 5" downpipes). $400 shipped

question- how did you set up the braided trans cooler lines into the radiator? ive found that earlier GMT800 trucks have different fittings in the radiator (as in the quick connect fitting to the radiator, they all obviously use the same push lock metal lines into the fittings). my 05 and 06 trucks use this o-ring type thread but has a huge wide metal surround that acts to hold the radiator cooler inside the radiator, while the 03's dont. so its impossible to switch out those fittings unless you swap the radiator- at least thats the only solution ive found so far... i ask this because im interested in the crossover pipe for a project i got on the backburner, but just dont want to deal with that headache of braided lines again unless someone has found a fitting that works on the later nbs truks

I'm using a Tru Cool cooler with AN fittings, so the radiator is bypassed.

oh, well that does answer my question as to how you did it. but if i may, that is not the ideal way to cool the trans. water cools 30x more efficiently than air- this is why BOTH types in one system is the ideal method. the hot fluid comes out of the transmission by the pump, directly from the converter which can produce much higher temps than what your sensor/gauge is reading in the pan. the water in the radiator is critical to drop the the temp down rapidly, while the air to air cooler is then able to further cool the ATF below the coolant temp. also, the radiator cooler is absolutely critical in helping the transmission get up to temp faster, and especially helpful in cold weather. there is very much such thing as too cold of ATF. it has an operating range which is very important to maintain. sorry, did not mean to take this thread off topic.

Engine coolant runs anywhere from 175-210 degrees which is way hotter than the ambient air temperature, so although a radiator based transmission cooler is better than nothing, it still does not cool as well as an air to air cooler external to the radiator. Radiator coolers are fine for 99% of OE applications, but in severe duty applications (diesel tow pigs) and performance truck applications, the external cooler is far superior.
