With everything you're selling you should have some money to do that swap soon. Bump for your super clean taillights.

Tails are back up for sale...the guy who was interested was from another site and thought that they were 03-07 tails

I'm tempted to candy these tails to sweeten the deal and increase their value, but I'm afraid that if I candy them that I'll want to keep them and run them! I always liked how these tails ran smoothly with the body lines and without the two bulges that my current 05 tails have...and that's the other thing, I like my 05 tail too, so I won't sell them and I'll have two sets of tails that I switch on and off to...and I need the bucks right now!

Going uppy!

Tom (tdrumm) gave me the idea about candying the tails btw, so if I go that route and sell them I'll have to give him a cut lol!

Question

Hey Billy, two quick questions...

What the heck does "candy" them mean?

Is this the whole taillight assembly, or just the lenses? In other words, can I just unbolt mine and bolt these on my 02?

I assume I wouldn't need the harnesses, but....

Mine look like crap

"Candy" is when guys paint the whole tail lenses red, except the backup light. This way there's no orange and it looks really slick. I'm sure that there's probably a write up or two about candying in the Show and Shine section. It's just like tinting them, but in red

They are the complete tail light assemblies that I removed from my truck when I bought my 05 lenses and harnesses. They will bolt right on your truck, and you can even reuse your factory harnesses as they are the same as the ones that I have. My harnesses are in good shape and would be good backups if you wanted to put them on the shelf "just in case", or we can knock the price down a little bit if you're not interested in the harnesses

(The 03-07 lenses have an extra bulb and require that you either alter your factory harness, or get the 03+ harnesses to have all of the "holes filled" in the lenses and all of the bulbs functioning)

I'll see if I can find some pics of some candied lenses for you

Here's D reks{5.3} with candied tails, I love this look and almost did it to mine, but got lazy and just bought the 05 tails instead. Candied 99-02 lenses are nice if you don't like how the 03+ lenses have those little bulges, which I wasn't into at first, but then they grew on me. I think that guys just use Testors paint to do the candying, but I'm not sure...

007GMC's candied and smoked

Beastmode's candied

Post #10 has a write up in this thread:

Hope this helps!

Damn dude, now I feel bad...

I was pretty intent on buying yours but now I'm 99.99% sure I am going to candy mine next weekend...Since mine are cloudy anyway, I have nothing to lose.

If it doesn't work out then hopefully you'll still have yours for sale...
