So you'd have to mill them a good bit to get the CR up on a 5.3?

Up to what? They are speced to be 10.75:1 on a 5.3L

i've been told different things by a lot of different people.. some say it will bump a 5.3 to 10:1 cr, some say it will stay the same but these heads will flow better since they've been ported and have larger valves.

that's on a 5.7 ls1.. just fyi. they don't say it, but i found that out after purchasing these heads.

They would probably drop the CR a tiny bit if you put them on a 5.3 or 4.8 and didn't have them milled.
