Its not worth anything without the software, so if its been used already...its locked to that truck. Just a heads up for anyone buying this hoping to tune their truck!

To buy everything new it would cost $600
To but the upgraded software it only cost $100

so you are saying that the cable only usually sells for $600? I think that's a little off. I thought the entire package was only $550 to start with...

the entire package goes for arounf $600 but if you have the cable all you have to do is buy the updated software for $100 and that is all you need

If this cable has been used already. It HAS to be sent back to Carputing to open/clear the cable for a new VIN#. That costs $200 bucks. UNLESS it has an open VIN lock on it. Been there, done that. I just had my cable redone.

And NO Edit does not cost $700 new. Its $450 on their website. Take a look!!

You can only get Edit from one site. www.carputing.com Were you looking at HPTuners by accident?

so if you were to buy the cable from him for say 200 and then it costs you another 200 to get the cable unlocked and then another 100 to get the new software you've spent what around $500.........?

i think all you would have to pay to get the cable unlocked it $100 adn it will come with the newest software
