what springs would be needed to run this cam? How's the idle quality?

you could use comp 915's, 918's or comparable. It idled nice.

 

You could use stock ls6's also. It's not super high lift.

 

Buy Badz's cam and some yellow LS6 springs. I just so happen to have a set of 16 Brand new ttt for a good cam and price. You'd have a mean running setup on a budget. Also the spring pressures wouldn't be hard enough where you would need to run hardened pushrods. You could reuse your stockers just fine
