my appologies for getting your hopes up but after much thought and with the help of a buddy ive talked myself into keeping the 6 liter and dropping it in as planned. it seems to be the best route as of now. sorry again.

What would I have to do to get this trans to work in a 97 Z71 truck? I have no idea if it would even work at all, but if I am not mistaken, the tail housing is the only differance. If I could get it to work, I would be very interested in this as I was also toying with the idea of getting an lt1 to build an lt4 for the truck. Let me know what you think in a pm if you do not mind.

I cant see it being a big deal, just change the output shaft for the t-case and bolt up the adapter......

Don't you have to take the entire trans apart to swap out that output shaft?
