I'm sure that it would work well...I had stock exhaust manifolds and heads and made 31 rwhp more with this cam. I'm sure that it would give nice gains without a lot of tuning in a 5.3, especially with more mods.

Scream: I plan on getting this exact cam. I rather buy a brand new cam, but if I change my mind I'll let you know. Do you have the stock TC and 3.42's? Also, how would this cam run without a tune for a couple of weeks?

It ran fine in my 4.8 for months without a tune. I had a few cold start issues, but nothing too major. I had to adjust the TB screw a little to get a good idle. The only "tuning" that I did was to raise the rev limiter/shift points and it made a WORLD of difference.

I ran the stock converter and 3.42's, but it was begging for some gear and a good stall to get it out of the hole. Remember, I was pulling 96-97 mph with a 2.35-2.40 60', all in a 4.8 truck with 20" rims and low profile tires. I really think that if I fine-tuned my setup and added some stickies, a converter, and gears that I would have seen some 13 second timeslips.

Why not buy this slightly used cam?

Let me think about it. I have a 4.8 that I was going to run some 6.0 heads on and the truck I have already has 3:73 gear in it. So with with this and a good tune I should pick up more than 31rwhp correct? What else do I need for this cam? 918s? Could you do $250 shipped to TX?

I would hate to make guarntees as to what you would/wouldn't make with this cam. I'd hate to dissapoint someone. I have dyno sheets showing that I gained 31rwhp with this cam, and I can't see how what you've said wouldn't make for just a big an increase. I'm not familiar enough with the 6L heads to be able to tell you how all of this would react on your 4.8.

I was really happy with the cam. I would suggest EDIT or some other type of custom tune with it though.

And, you would need 918s. Hardened pushrods wouldn't hurt, either. I've already turned down $250 shipped...I've sent you a PM, though. Let me know and I'll see if we can work something out.

I've already turned down $250 shipped to another guy, but I wouldn't mind working that deal with you. Can you PayPal me the money? michaellregister@yahoo.com.

Let me sit and think on it...if someone else wants it go right ahead and sell it to them though. What kind of cold start issues did it have? Also, how would this cam be with just 4.10's and posi instead of a 3000 stall yank? I could save a bit of money by getting gears and posi instead of getting the yank at the moment. Your times with the 4.8 were pretty impressive considering you were on 20's and what minimal mods it had. Thanks

how would this cam perform in a 6.0? Im looking for something to give a good upgrade from stock, nice gains a decent growl and drivability. Im afraid it may be a little smaller than what i need, what do you think?
