Default Bushing Upgraded Rockers Fresh LS1/2/6 or LS3/L92

LS1/2/6 OR L92/LS3

I upgraded some rockers with the new Smallwood Performance / Straub bushing kit. I won't get around to using these real soon so I figured I would let these go and get some field testing.

Parkerized like a gun barrel and then cooked in oil/moly. Then upgraded.

$299 Shipped! The kit alone costs $159.

I apologize for not getting back here sooner. Yes; I have straight and offset styles.

Thank you.

Are they new rockers?

I like the look of them. Does the coating have a texture beyond what the stock rockers have? I'm wondering if that could take its toll on valve tips as they wear?

The rockers are not new but better than new. They were visually inspected to pick the best of the used rockers I had and then cleaned in a proper commercial parts washer, dried, then Parked and cooked in a blend of lubricants for the park to soak up. So there is lubrication literally soaked into the surface. Any rockers that had nicks, rough spots, rust, etc. are tossed out immediately. I re-inspected each rocker after the Park/cook while assembling as well. If while holding the trunnion the rocker body won't smoothly spin twice around by flicking it, I will hone the body lightly until there is zero friction.

Yes; Parkerization is basically the deposition of manganese phosphate on/in clean steel. It is porous and has a slight texture. The benefit here is that the Park surface itself is a sort of solid lubricant, soaked with oil and other wear inhibitors. It aids in establishing a new wear pattern between the rocker tips and valve tips and pushrods. On those spots, the Park will fairly quickly wear off though some does remain etched in the metal surface, giving some longer-term benefit.

Ever seen a black flat-tappet aftermarket cam? Same treatment and concept.

I hope I answered your questions and shed some light on the subject. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I think I have some around the shop I did the same but with the roller trunnions instead if that is preferred.

Thanks!

Anyway, these are very cool and legit. Get some for your ride. Best stock-upgraded rockers you can get.
