What case you have and what transmission you have? If you have 4l60e and 246 autotrac then you will need the shorter driveshaft that comes in the silverado ss and lock the front end in. There is a difference but you dont have to change it.

4L60E and you mentioned before the 246. I have an 04 GMC RCSB Z71 with the push-button 4WD.

So no software changes I take it? Once you lock the front diff in, it will be AWD.

Didn't know if the computer tries to do any TQ management with the trans while 4WD is engaged.

Are you going to be using the 246 in your new setup, or is this to get you around while you build something else?
