4.8 pistons w/ mahle rings sell or trade for ls1 pistons
#1
i bought a set of slightly used 4.8 pistons a while back from 1fastbrick.
they are in great shape come with wrist pins and a new set of mahle rings.
i found out my block is already .030 over so they wont work for me, im going to go ahead and step up to the ls1 pistons.
will sell pistons WITH RINGS or will trade for (or towards) a set of ls1 pistons w/o rings.
text 20549454o5 fastest response but ill try to also keep an eye on this thread also.

im flip flopping again, decided not to go iron ls1, but these pistons are out of the question for my combo. some one make me an offer on the rings and 4.8 pistons was trying to break even and get what i got in them, but make me and offer they are just taking up space right now.

are the pistons press fit or floating? coated skirts?
What about the Mahle rings? Were they file fits, or drop ins for stock bore? What was the end gap spec'ed at?
..just curious about these, possibly drop them in m 5.3 while it's on the stand...

Press fit, stock 4.8 take outs, the are coated but do have a little bit of wear not much at all I was going to run them as is, one has a small scratch in the coating like you drew a 1/2" j in it, got them from 1fastbrick like that, he said he figured they bumped into ea other while he was pAcking.
Rings are stock replacements from mahle, i was going to file them open a bit more nitrous, but now Ive decided to just go forged.
