I don't like big camshafts unless I'm not going to run it on the street. This 231/239 is about as big as I would go in my 408 if I did it again. With the cathedrals, you can get away with a bigger cam than the LS3's but I would still keep it in the 230's. Its just personal preference. I'm after great drivability vs squeezing out every horsepower I can get.

For example, I'm going to rebuild my 408 for boost and will probably run my triple 12 in it for a while Yea I'll be giving up a lot of hp but damn it will be fun to drive. So much torque down low

 

LS stuff seems to like little cams. My 318 in my plymouth station wagon is 234/244 lol.

The 468ci small block in my Dodge Aspen is 276/284 .746"/.714". I drive it on the street, but yes, it can get annoying sometimes lol. terrible mileage on the highway too.... or anywhere.

My turbo 5.3 build? good old ZO6 204/218 haha

Cam is sold. You might want a single pattern cam or a reverse split for the cathedral ports.
