just going out on a limb here but wouldnt throwing in a 4l80 be kind of taking a step backwards? i mean you already have the 6l80, beef it up a tad and it should be better than the 4l80...just a thought. id rather keep the 6 speed if it was me, especially if its already a beefy trans

Just curious is to why you think it wouldn't last....since there are a few G8 GTs pushing 500+rwhp supercharged and not breaking them. Heck..Parish is pushing 650ish rwhp in his G8 and its holding. Z06 engine is about 430rwhp through a manual......but either way....good luck with your project.
