Yank 3000 + TransGo
#1
Is this a good setup for tranny? Is there anything that i need to worry about if i have this installed? I've heard that the transgo has messed up some tranny's...what you guys think? Do they make any valve bodies for our trannies..would this be better than getting transgo. I just need some opinions. I want to hit second hard!

I had a Y3200(1.86str) and transgo(2 shims) in my '00 SS for a long time. The shifts at WOT felt stock with 2 shims and the Y3200. I'm not sure how much putting the third shim in would have firmed up the shift. I've read that using the third shim really makes the shifts hard.
I ran that combo for ~10,000 miles with no problems. Just put a trans. cooler on there. I did notice my temps. go up after installing both.
If you want 2nd to hit hard do 3 shims and a TP4400. Then again that might not be a safe setup for a pickup truck...with there tendency to break the rear tires loose and all.

i have installed the transgo on my truck with no probs. for 6000+/- 100 miles. the shifts are good i should have installed two washers though for a little firmer 1-2 shift
as far as a new valvebody, the transgo kit replaces much of the existing parts.
