Question Which Yank?

This might seem like an interesting first post but I just realized that TBYRNE is running a Yank converter deal that ends tommorrow. I have a 01 5.3L Z71 GMC. I am planning on installing a supercharger and some other hp upgrades. Obviously the tranny has to get some help too. It seems like a real common "triple fix" is to go with a Yank converter, a Transgo shift kit, and upgraded servos. My truck is going to be a lifted (6 inch) onroad/offroad ride as opposed to a total street truck. I am going to be running 35s with a 4.56 rear end. I want to keep my stock towing capacity so the 3200 is out. However, I am having trouble deciding between the 2600 and the 3000. Little help please.

BTW on Yanks website FAQ they say this:
Is a shift kit required or recommended?
Yank Performance Converters can achieve maximum performance and efficiency without the use of shift kits. Shift kits dramatically raise transmission line pressure to increase shift firmness. Increased shift firmness will not increase performance, but create unnecessary stress on the transmission and other drive-line components.

Any comments on that would be welcome also.

I would not go larger than a 2600 with all that weight and big *** tires. If you don't like it, you can always restall later. Since you won't be going for off the line speed, the 2600 will work well.

I agree with Greg. I have the TT3000 in a 2wd ECSB, and it definately took some getting used to. If I had to do it again, I'd still get the TT3000, but in your application I think the TT2600 is a better choice. On a side note, my gas mileage seems to have really went down with the converter. I bet I lost over 2 mpg since the install, even tho it took me a while to keep my foot out of it!
