Y Pipe with Cats
#1
Is there anyone who makes a Y pipe that will bolt directly up to longtubes that has cats.
I want to get some long tubes and keep the cats.
Im looking at pacesetters because they seem good on the price but I just want to keep the cats and just bolt everything in.
I have a 2000 ext cab 5.3.
Thanks

Don't think there are any pre-made that will fit the pacesetters. You might be able to get a muffler shop to make something. Dynatech is about the only company I have seen that makes LT's with a catted Y, but they are expensive.

I found some OBX's on E bay with everything for 500.
But I bet the cats are fake, it dosent say anything about them.
Or I could get the pacesetters for 349 for the y pipe to.
Stainless works look nice, but 1300 dollars dosent.

I suppose they have some affect on the sound. That would be their only purpose. They are a decent header for the price. If you have a 2wd the only problem you may see is a close fit to the frame on the passenger side (very minor) although it may require a small dent so it doesn't rattle on the frame. If you have a 4wd it seems to be hit or miss on getting the drivers side past the front drive shaft. Mine were a big miss. You will also need to deal with the driver side primary hump by getting a longer plug wire and/or some heat protection for the plug wires.

Things got a little louder.
Not bad with my magnaflow catback though. I do have some drone at around 1800 rpm that was annoying at first, but it doesn't bother me now. I guess I just got used to it.

Yeah its just after a while the smell gets annoying, but maybe it wont be so bad with my 2000.
My 95TBI cats went out so I punched them out and the smell was pretty strong.
Ive got a spintech pro street thats made for vehicles with cats, but before it I had a spintech that was made for vehicles without cats and I just sold it.
Anyway im going to order them today off ebay thanks for the help. There coming from california to florida by UPS ground so I guess it will take a week.
thanks again
