are X/H pipes even worth putting on?? i welded an x pipe on here a while back and was just wondering if they actually do add any hp? i never felt any difference with the ole butt dyno..any one actually done a dyno test with before and after with these?

I have read a number of dyno tests on exhausts, and the general result seems to be that an h-pipe will make more midrange tq and hp than nothing and an x-pipe will make more than an h-pipe. A buddy of mine recently put a x-pipe on his car and it really seemed to make a difference from about 3000 rpms up...

I'm even going to try something a little different. On my crew cab, I had the cutouts before the x-pipe and then into the mufflers, but I noticed a lot of lowend torque loss when the cutouts were open. So this time, I am going to put the x-pipe right up at the front, as close to the motor as possible, and weld the cutouts right behind them to see if this will help any. Hopefully I will see a nice medium between the gain of some low end, and gains in the upper RPM's.

sounds like a good idea to me... I notice I lose a lot of tq down low with both of my cutouts open too. They are right behind the header collectors on the Y pipe... I just run a big single exhaust otherwise...
