Default X Pipe

Are you guys just welding in the Xpipes? I would like to have mine bolted to the Ypipe and welded to the cat back so I can remove each side of the Y pipe seperatly whenever I want. Where would I get the flanges to do something like this? I am running my stock Ypipe into a 2.5 inch into dual 2.25s and I think the 2.5 inch is choking the motor so that is why I want to do the Xpipe. What part number Xpipe would help too. Thanks guys.

Lots of muffler shops have standard 2.5" flanges. If not, Jegs or Summit have them. I think I ordered some rom Summit last year.

Can you still take the Ypipe down or is it all welded together now? Can you send a pic? Was the Xpipe more than 50 dollars? My truck seems slower since I installed the headers so I think I need an X pipe. cashdudehomie@webtv.net

The X replaces the Y. You could get some flanges mounted on each side of the x you can remove it. It would cost about $150. $80 x pipe+$20 flanges+$50 labor. Check out this post for pictures/info. https://ls1tech.com/threads/showflat...31&fpart=1
