Default X or H

Quick question guys.

I am getting a new exhaut setup from headers to the tips along with my engine swap next month My installer recomended an H pipe over an X pipe. I know that the fuel tank gets in the way for true duals but thats what I am getting. True Duals with 4x8x16 Bassani's. I have been going by what he recomends on my build but I wanted to get some imput from yall that have had either then switched or any input at all.

I am not too picky on the sound, the Hooker Super Comp header collector is 3" and the rest back will be reduced to 2.5" then dumped under the bed for the time being. One thing that worries me about the H is the tranny clearance.

I have read the the H give your exhaust more of a muscle car and the X give you a higher pitch exhaust sound.

X is what I am leaning towards based on a few threads I read up here. I love the way a 5.0 mustangs sounds, expecially with bassani's.

I heard that the x is better for torque also...I had an h pipe setup on my 71 Camaro with some "turbo" mufflers and that thing sounded awesome though, but I've heard x-pipe setups that sound awesome aslo.

From my limited understanding the X more effectively scavanges spent exhaust by using the impulse of one side to draw from the other

na the o-pipe is old news what you want is the mandrel bent U pipe for more efficiency and low end torque

j/k but if you go with an X pipe make sure you look into what muffler you get, because if your going with a 2in 2 out the magnaflow already have a X pipe built in to thier mufflers.

if your going with single 1in 1 out then no worrys
