Mine sometimes comes on when I take hard turns left or right... and every time I do donuts ha. The level is always fine when I'm sitting still on level ground.

Ahh....save yourself a trip to the dealership. Add some coolant and it will quit displaying low coolant. My 2000 Silverado did the same thing after 75,000 mi.
I added over an inch of coolant over the full hot line. Never had the problem again.
If you haven't flushed your Dexcool and have over 60K on it, then go ahead and have it flushed out with some new coolant.
Just make sure you top it off a little over the full line.

i added some the other day. so far no problems. i could care less at this point anyway. its not coming from outside the motor anywhere. and its obviously not getting into the motor fast enough to hurt anything for the 2 more months i need it

and don't worry, i'd never do a stupid thing like take my truck to the stealership.

my "low coolant" light came on last night. i let the truck cool down and the reservoir was full. i did start noticing lately, that with the cooler mornings, that the temp gauge doesn't go to 210* or even close. it goes about half way in between the 160* and 210* hash marks. i also noticed that i could smell the anti-freeze whenever i opened my hood. didn't see any leaks anywhere. could this be a sign that my t-stat is going out?

are the hoses that run from the radiator to the engine suppose to be kind of soft or are they suppose to be some what firm?
