my tach does the same when i get it to hook good. it will flash up, back down while im still accelerating good, then get going again.

im sure it has something to do with the converter. you flash it up high, then it holds that rpm until your speed catches up to the flash.

Well, considering I have an 11.5 inch TC with a Carbon Fiber clutch rated for 1,000HP I don't think i have anything to worry about...

I know a buddy of mine BigBlackAV was having trouble with his tune and his TC was not locking at all and he was not happy with how it drove...

As far as Tach vs. speed, when my TC locks the RPMs drop about 400rpm and then the tach begins moving again right away but, the trucks speed starts increasing faster at this point. I have noticed since putting in my 4.56 gears i need to redo my shift points but, that will get done when I tune the new motor...

I'm pretty certain that I'm not flash-stalling to 4k with a stock converter , and if I am I need a new one then because something's broken in it . But that IS what it feels like while driving, it's like when you hit the stall speed on a big converter....MPH increases but engine speed doesn't

Lord Aries:
Yeah...that's a pretty beefy TC, I wouldn't be too worried either

My TC is set to stay unlocked at anything over 90% TPS and TCC shift lock is disabled....

My tach never drops any RPM's when it "pauses" ...it just doesn't gain any either for almost a 10mph length in second gear

Just wanted to add that my stall is 1,600rpm in case that might have anything to do with this conversation... :-)
