whose using what engine oil?

If you put the crappiest oil you could find in your truck it will still protect the engine and make it last longer than you would care to even keep your truck. You won't have your truck or that engine long enough to care. You'll want to swap to something bigger and better before you'll wear your engine out using crappy oil.
But myself i use mobil 1 5w30 change it every 5-6k depending how its driven.

Definitely not wanting to start any crap. Just stating my experience. Used Pennzoil as recommended religiously on an '80 model Dodge pickup 2.6 (Mitubishi) since new. Changed more often than it was recommended, 3-5000 mi. Used it as a service truck and beat the crap out of it the whole time I had it. 4 years later at 109,000 it developed an issue...counterbalance shaft as I recall. I pulled the valve cover when it started running rough and to my suprise there was a ton of sludge all over the valve covers and valvetrain. I have never used it again. Maybe there was another issue such as pvc that was unknown to me. I do not have any idea. Just my experience. Take it for what its worth. Have used Royal Purple or Mobile 1 with no issues on at least 5 vehicles for many years.

I run mobil1 synthetic 5w~20 winter, 5w~30 summer on the turbo truck. Rotella T synthetic 5w~40 in my Big blocks, and Dmax. I will use dello 400 15w~40 on an engine that has some clearance.
