zippy, you very well might be right. Those tires aren't but 8.5'ish inches wide at the tread. The sidewall is 10.5. I would like to try some 28x12.5x16 tires though. Those measure out around 10.5 treadwidth.

These are on narrow rims too, keep that in mind as well because that would have a pretty good factor in grip too.

I would look into some cal-tracs.

on that note its a 15" on a S-10 but...1.51 60ft on a 235/60R15 Mt Etstreet radial.

I'm running BF Goodrich Drag radials 255/50/r16 on a set of stock tahoe wheels. They are very short, but hook pretty good on a well prepped track. They also hook great on the street.

Chris- 99silveradoss is running some nitto street slicks on his 18s. He seems to hook very well at the track.

After the Eaton gets here, I'm going to look into going with a 16x10 rim and some true slicks for the track. Maybe they will hook this biatch consistantly.

ET streets properly warmed up, on a good suspension will hook great, my buddy had a '01 WS6 A4 with a procharger on it, he would leave hard on the converter, and hooked with very little to no spin, if the track was prepped good.

Maybe you should try out a different track. Doesn't seem like that one is prepped to well.
I pulled up to a 1.71 60' w/stock 16" wheels and 26x11.50 et streets. NO caltracs!

Best 60ft I got at Thunder at a 900rpm launch was a 1.74, but the crappy g80 let go of one tire and I smoked it up right after the 60. The launch looked great on video, until the smoke showed up.
