Default Who makes the quietest Cold Air Intake?

I am biting the bullet, I have to get a CAI since I finally have an intake restriction (I can see it while data logging) As the RPM's climb my KPA's are dropping off up top. At any rate, who makes the quietest CAI on the market? I would assume a closed box type like volant? What do you guys run and how do you like them?

I have Volant on both my trucks, but you can definitely hear the hum over the stock piece. I also think the exhaust is a bit louder from them too, but it may just be me....

I would imagine the volant is still quieter than the K&N anyways, right?

Yes. Because of the box.
I have a Volant now and it's tons better than other intakes I've had in the past.

i have the gmpp one and it is very quiet. i would say just as quiet as stock, there was no noticeable difference over the stock box. it is the closed box style and it has a foam ring that seals up against the fender like the stock one, it also has a chromed metal tube to the throttle body and it comes with a dry filter

I used to have a K&N FIPK and now have a Volant with ram air, the Volant is a touch quieter, but not much...neither one is quiet by any means. I'm very happy with the Volant, nice quality unit that looks great under the hood. I was happy with the K&N also, both seem to perform the same from what my butt meter tells me. I'm running an Amsoil dry filter that also seems to be top quality...didn't notice any difference in power when switching to the dry filter either. I'd recommend getting a dry filter for whichever CAI that you chose...no worries about getting oil on the MAF and no re-oiling, just periodic cleaning.

The one thing I don't like about the volant is the fact it can't be turned upwards if a guy wants to install a 90mm intake. Every other person I've seen with the 90mm truck intake uses a metal tube/90deg silicone elbow that can be turned to work smoothly.

Do you mean because the Volant's plastic tube goes directly to the throttle body? (it retains the factory gasket/clamp to the throttle body btw)
