Default Who makes a intake?

Odd question but-

Does anyone out there make a pipe that goes from the stock airbox to the throttle body to eliminate the goofy shaped "air silencer" that sits so awkwardly between the fan shroud and engine?

I would like to retain the stock airbox setup and just replace the plastic flow restriction- the stock airbox and air inlet location is more than sufficient, the only problem is the inbetween. I do not want to replace the stock airbox with some flimsy plastic shroud with a oversized K&N conical filter.

Input?

I think Airaid makes one called the modualr intake tube or mit and you can buy it seperate..EDIT part number 200-912 or you can get it with the drop in air filter

airaid makes 3 actually. 912 and 919. if i recall correctly, 912 is for with clutch fan and fan shroud and 919 without and with electric fans. then there are the airaid jr kits which are the just the intake tube and stock type but better flowing filter. i have had both the 912 and 919.

sold the 912 and should have a 919 intake tube for sale in coming week. you can check them out on ebay. they go for like $121 and up. will sell mine for $80 shipped

I hadn't thought about it until now, but was there a truck in "my" generation with electric fans? I could remove the clutch driven fan and save alot of room if I could shave off a couple of inches of the schroud.

I will likely take you up on your offer- pics when available.

Edit: google search on the 919 is for electric fan models, of which mine isn't. still looks like it would work though.

Looks like I need to just do an electric fan swap first thing- anyone have any insight on that?

Yep, there's tons of info about swapping efans into our trucks...since you're a 2500 and already have a 34" radiator, the 05+ efans will drop right in, then all that you'll need is a harness and pcm tuning to turn the fans on and off. Search for "efans"/"05 efans"/"LS1 fans", etc.

i have the airaid 919 now removed and available. also had forgotten i got a like new airaid drop in filter for the stock air box to compliment the 919. this is just like the airaid jr intake kit that sells on ebay for 160-175. i can do 110 shipped for both airaid 919 and airaid filter. pics available of both items. will offer you first opportunity since you are inquiring in this post prior to listing tomorrow. can ship tomorrow. please look at my trader feedback for confidence in buying. rob (956) 802-7700.

Looking at the Airaid website- the 919 is for Efan models only- mines currently not-

I need the 912 Airaid model for my current setup, and when (and if) I swap to Efan next summer THEN I need the 919.

Or does the 919 just fit the older models too and they didn't mention it on their website?

It doesn't have the bump for the shroud. I would just get some spectre elbows/couplers and aluminum pipe.

Thats what I was thinking- I have a very talented exhaust shop that can bend me a 4" pipe to fit there perfectly- just need the rubber 90 degree elbow and a end clamp. I can notch the fan housing to accomidate if necessary.

I think you can angle it up high enough to miss the shroud and not hit the hood.
