i have had the JBA's for a long time, and they are a good quality wire, but as said above, a wire doesnt do you ****, it just lets u honestly color match under your hood. Stock are great plugs, i just liked the looks of a red plug with my red intake cover

The stockers seem to be pretty good quality wires...If headers and clearance is a problem, then possibly you could switch to something with an angle boot. I have MSD's for no particular reason....basically they were comparable in price to the stockers and I just felt like changing them. They've held up for a few years with Gibson shorties (as did the stockers), and a few months so far with my SW longtubes.

I kept my old stockers as a backup just in case I ever run into a problem and have to make a repair in a pinch...they seemed to be in near perfect condition when I removed them. (Just have to remember where I put them if I ever need them )

When shopping for wires the first concern is it's resistance numbers. The stockers may be fine, but there is no reason to not replace them either. The lower resistance the plug wire is, the longer the duration the spark will occur. You want a low resistance plug wire with the ability to withstand the higher temperatures. You certainly aren't going to gain big in the quarter with a different plug wire, but I wouldn't say that they aren't worth replacing.

Anyone up to doing a ohm resistance test between the stock wires and a few aftermarket plug wires?
That will tell you how much the change would really be.

hmm...that would be good to know. I know MSD's 8.5mms vary from 40-50ohms per foot (according to their site), whereas Crane Fire Wire's 8.5mms run 25ohms/ft., and they claim an industry low.

should be interesting to see what the stockers show...

We should have a stock set at work. I'll pull a set tomorrow and check.

well a stock wire will pull about 980 ohms and a taylor and msd pull about 30 ohms if that tells you anything lol. if you do an ohms test with the little bell on the fluke then the stock wires won't even make the bell go off but the other two do. so pretty much a direct short between end to end of the taylors and msd's.

yea i tested my stockers with 135k miles on them compared to some used MSDs,
stockers were anywhere from 900-1400ohms, MSDs were 30-40ohms..
Theres my 2 cents.
