That was a good idea, I helped my friend do his pacesetter y and it was a bitch.

On my LPPs I didnt have to worry about the slip fit, I cut the y pipe at the ends where the flare stopped and used v bands to connect everything. The only slip fit used was from the driver to pass side halves. I didnt use the extension and ball flange either, just a v band right after the actual y.

Well the LPP's are stainless so their not suppose to rust, I haven't had them on for a winter yet so I cant really contest to how they hold up against salt and what not. I hear its hit or miss with the coating on the pacesetters.

I would never get Pacesetters. And I dont know about your sources but LPPs are 450 shipped right now, Pacesetters from TSP are somewhere around 530 shipped IIRC.

I dont really think the winter snow and salted streets are a problem in southern california so that isnt too big a concern

why wouldnt you (1989k1500) ever use pacesetters?

this plus a powdercoating is pretty much the same price as LPPs isnt it?

pacesetters are garbage plain and simple. There's really no comparison between any of the SS headers and pacesetters. Once you have both in hand you will see.

Pacesetters at first were the best thing out for guys that wanted to stay cheap, get a gain.. One being cause there was only a few headers out for the new trucks, the others were alot of money.. I ran pacesetters for about 4 years in the snow rain ect, they did well, but were done by the time I took them off.. As much as I hate to say it LPP is the way to go for you guys that don't want to spend the money on other stainless headers... Even though they are made in china.. Why spend almost as much on a coated header when you can have a stainless one that will not rust away ever.. I love my stainless works...

I have them and as long as you dont have a 4x4 I think they should fit fine.
I would go with stainless LPPs over pacesetters
