Default Whipple for a 5.3 work on a 6.0? (different intake tubes)

The whipple for the 5.3 has an intake tube like an S that goes from the airbox to the TB on the blower.... i noticed that the kits for the 6.0, i guess newer kits or somthing, have the TB mounted on an offset twards the airbox and a round "L" shaped tube to the airbox instead of the square looking S one. Will that 5.3 kit not work on my 6.0 ss?? (i don't care about the electronics i am going to be ditching that stuff)

Thanks,
Nate

The difference is not necessarily 5.3 versus 6.0 it is more cable throttle versus electronic throttle. If your truck is ETC with the TB facing forward just get a couple rubber couplers and a length of 4" sewer pipe and make your own pipe to hook the TB to the 90 degree elbow that hooks to the MAF.

Well the kit i am looking to buy has the S tube not the L, and i have a 03 SS, so i suppose i have the cable throttle? So the S tube should be fine? for my truck? What makes it nessesary for them to change the TB placement for the CTc vs. ETC? Whats a quick way to tell if i have electric or cable throttle?

I think all 03 and newer trucks have the electronic throttle. Whipple had to make changes in their kits for the ETC because the motor on the TB would hit the firewall if they didnt use that 90 degree inlet adapter on the blower. The quickest way to tell which kind you have is to open the hood and look at it. Does it have a cable or not?

So then that S tube setup won't work at all?? Will whipple sell me the 90* angle and the new intake tube? I know that whipple is kinda bitchy about used kits, i didn't really want to deal with them if i had the choice. How much do you think they would charge me for it??

Thanks,
Nate
