im trying to find some 17" rims that are really cheap so that i dont have to use the 16" bfg drag radials, i would much rather have a 315/35r17 than a 255/45r16. i tried to find some but so far not lucky. i found some new ones for 85bucks at discount tire, but just wondering if there was anywhere that had cheaper ones...

In my experience w/ trucks, drag radials never hookup. There's just not enough weight in the back. Not even with the Caltrac Bars from www.calvertracing.com . The best combo would be a 16" ET Street or Sportsman Pro.
But if you must have a drag radial in 17" try calling a local Wheel retailer. Abudy of mine found a cast alum. 17" for less then $100 ea. Another option is to buy an Aluminum adapter and use some of these POS F-body wheels everybody is pulling off their cars. The best source for adapters is www.motorsport-tech.com not to be confused w/ www.motorsporttech.com .

opps... almost forgot about Nittos new 305/45-18 Drag radial. It should be available sometime in January. I didn't do the math but I think that's about 28" tall and 12" wide!

the only reason i didnt want the 16" et streets was because people told me that i would have worse traction than normal tires if i didnt do a burnout everytime, i race more on streets and on interstates than at the track. decisions decisions...
